PROJECT 86 is my all-time favorite band. I have been a fan since the early 2000’s. In late 2020, P86 began planning their next album OMNI. It was at this stage I was able to get involved at a personal level, which was a complete bucket list opportunity. Here are some of the ways I was able to bring some ideas to life.

OMNI Tower is the dystopian futuristic symbol of the historic Tower of Babel. After the concept album art was released, I was commissioned to bring this 2D sketch to life. Using SKETCHUP, an architectural CAD software, I remapped all the lines and virtually rebuilt the tower using modern day scale and engineering. The goal was to give the viewer a fly through experience into the world of OMNI. I was a part of a team filled with highly skilled individuals that worked together to build an online ARG (augmented reality game) to promote the new album. This website could only be found by using encrypted videos with hidden messages, much like a digital escape room. My tasks were video editing, creating virtual experiences and other downloadable rewards. If you want to check out the official P86 music video that showcases the Tower, click “Metatropolis.” Below is one of the videos I made for OMNI Tower, with the latest 3D model. This experience navigates a path revolving specifically around the tower. I also made a custom original soundtrack, hope you enjoy!

From the virtual design, it is time to make a scaled down physical model. In order to print the OMNI Tower over 5 feet, I needed to section it off into 7 separate segments. I also included an additional baseplate with clear exhaust risers to give the illusion of levitation. Here is what all the components look like in the 3D printing slicing software.

Since the practicality of having a 66″ tower fitting inside your home is “not for everyone”, we have a nice cute little desktop version. Here is the promo video.

Next project was bringing to live a highly advanced piece of OMNI tech called the nano bot. A microscopic robot that has the ability to reprogram your eye, giving you essentially computer vision. This guy is featured on the P86 music video titled ” 0 > 1 “. Here are some screenshots. Being such a difficult shape and design, I simplified my version and used a skull as the template to build upon. With this, the ARG had another downloadable reward.

Featured in the P86 music video “Virtual Signal,” the REVOLT made its way on stage. Shortly after I decided to give the REVOLT a limited skin designed just for the OMNI POLICE. First here are some screenshots from the music video. (Click arrows left/right to view images)

Complete REVOLT body badged with the OMNI logo. Also fitted with a fake Heritage Rough Rider revolver so this could be used as a prop. These are available to order, just request it in the comments. Click HERE

In 2022, Project 86 was headed to Germany for a live show. I was commissioned to animate their logo for the main stage graphic. Here are a couple demo loops.
