ABOUT US
Hey! My name is Gage, together my wife Jordyn and I make up Built Anomaly. We have been plotting our global takeover since we met at age 17. We have always seen things through different lenses and tend to always travel down the hard, narrow road. Specifically, always seeing the best in every situation. It’s what every master sculptor says, it’s not the solid mass that is in front of you, it’s the image that is trapped inside. Our job is to merely knock the edges off and unveil the vision for all to see. We operate best by using 3D design software to accurately sculpt out your potential reality for your home.
What sets us apart is being the community; we aren’t big retail or commission-based sales design teams. Our strategy is to love our customers as ourselves. Everything we do is a reflection of what we would do for our own family. We have strategically chosen to keep a tight radius on where we provide service because we truly want to serve the community where we call home. I am a rare Arizona native and moved out to the West Valley during my Jr. High years.
Since getting married, we planted our roots down in Verrado (Buckeye) in 2013 and have happily been here ever since. This is the true “about me” in one sentence…ready 🙂 I, Gage Robinson, am not satisfied with things left alone. Customizing things just comes naturally, being different but functional (i.e., way better). At first, it started out with skateboards, then scooters, then bikes, then cars, and then homes.
Our History
Let us talk about my lovely wife, she is the driving force behind the start of this business. Ok, now that we gave her credit let’s get back to my story…. JUST kidding 😉 Seriously Jordyn has been the greatest physical companion I could have dreamed for. She is the smart one on the team and always has a clear vision of what she wants. I really appreciate her ability to do the work of 3 people single handedly balancing wife, mom, and teacher. Jordyn started her college courses at age 16, and while working 2 jobs, she graduated with her bachelor’s degree in English language arts. She immediately went back for two years for educational endorsement, SPED cross categorical endorsement and ELL endorsement. Working now for 15 years as the head of the SPED department for a K-8 district, her incredible skillset to articulate thoughts through teaching and writing is next level. Her role in BA is bringing the sophistication in design and personalizing spaces for each individual’s needs. She also knows how to roll her sleeves up and is happy to help with the dirty work.
Now, my history is a little more blue collar. Always been a hard worker, I thank my family for that. Since the age of 10, at least that’s when I can remember, I have had the pleasure of working alongside the family business over my summer breaks. We had a mobile home transportation business, and I got to tag along and help out with the setup of getting the home ready for the road. This experience taught me the value in sacrificing the lazy summer life for hard work and the pot of gold at the end of the tunnel. I remember making 5 bucks’ day, and each passing year increasing my earnings. It was a powerful tool knowing that I could set a goal and reach it. It gave me confidence to start customizing my things. For example, how to buy the budget item, and then upgrade parts making it better than the best for half the price. This is the skillset that I have been exercising my whole life. Back in high school this really took off when I was able to get a real government paying job at 16. This was dangerous since, I now was making the most money I have ever seen. Minimum wage to a 16-year-old was glorious. That’s when vehicle modifications became my new favorite bank account. Now most kids know what they want to be when they grow up, or at least had sports, or a specific college idea. Not this guy, I just wanted to work and grow inside a company and enjoy the fruits of my labor. If I did any school it was going to be a trade, the idea of taking classes for things I won’t be using just couldn’t be justified in my brain. Well not longer than a week or two of graduation I received a job offer from a family-owned business. The offer was almost double the pay and had an amazing projection of starting from the ground up. This company made custom cutting tools that big milling machines used to make parts. Think about a drill bit but extremely specified to cut thick metal in all directions, like a wood working router bit. We made tools for aerospace, firearms, and even automotive applications. This new world taught me the perfect precision of CNC machines. I began working as an operator learning the software and design. From there the doors kept opening from operator to lead trainer, process manager, head engineer, and also getting into marketing. Process is so important to me, and creating prints and programs with this company for over 15 years now has given me the structured mind to develop the business of my dreams.
